"Epitaxial-growth and electronic structure of Ruddlesden-Popper nicklates (Lan+1NinO3n+1, n = 1-5)", APL Mater. 8, 091112 (2020); https://doi.org/10.1063/5.0018934
Layered perovskite nickelates have long been considered as close analogs to high Tc cuprates and have been extensively studied by theoretical and experimental investigations for potential new superconductors. By altering the n value in Ruddlesden-Popper (RP) phase nicklates, the electronic structure can be tuned. In this work by using molecular beam epitaxy and angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy, we synthesized RP phase La(n+1)Ni(n)O(3n+1) thin films from n=1 to n=5. The metastable n=4 and n=5 compounds are synthesized for the first time. The electronic structure of n=4 film is similar to high Tc cuprates.
